11 stvari koje niste znali o Zagrebu

Svaki grad priča svoju priču, manje ili više poznatu, svaki grad ima i svoje tajne koje nisu poznate ni onima koji su u ovom gradu rođeni. Iz tog razloga pokušat ćemo vam približiti Zagreb kako bi što lakše doživjeli njegovu autentičnost i barem na tren postali pravi Purger.

1. Donji i Gornji grad osim mnogobrojnih stubišta spaja i uspinjača koja je jedinstvena po tome što je najstarije prijevozno sredstvo organiziranog javnog prijevoza putnika u Zagrebu. Posebna je i po tome što vožnja na 66 metara dugoj pruzi traje tek 64 sekunde i zbog toga se smatra i najkraćom žičanom željeznicom na svijetu.

2. Najstariji zagrebački hotel otvoren je 1827. godine i zove se Jägerhorn. Nalazi se svega pet minuta hoda od glavnog zagrebačkog trga, Trga bana Josipa Jelačića na adresi Ilica 14. Hotel je nedavno preuređen te svakako preporučamo da ga posjetite u potrazi za okrepom.

3. Ukoliko je tvrdnja o potkovama koje donose sreću istinita, Zagreb je definitivno najsretniji grad na svijetu. Pitate se zašto? Pa zato što ima Zelenu potkovu, znanu i kao Lanuzzijeva potkova koja je ime dobila po svom idejnom začetniku, urbanistu Milanu Lanuzziju. Dotični gospodin je krajem XIX. stoljeća u cilju širenja zagrebačke gradske jezgre osmislio seriju trgova i parkova te ih smjestio na potezu između današnjeg Trga bana Josipa Jelačića i Glavnog kolodvora. „Potkovu“ čine Zrinjevac, Strossmayerov trg, Trg kralja Tomislava, Trg Ante Starčevića, Botanički vrt, Marulićev trg, Mažuranićev trg i Trg Republike Hrvatske (bivši Trg maršala Tita).

4. Laika je bila prvi pas u svemiru. To znaju gotovo svi. Međutim, znate li koji je pas prvi dobio spomenik u Zagrebu? Radi se o psu skitnici nazvanom Pluto koji je krajem XIX. stoljeća uveseljavao radnike na gradilištu Prve hrvatske štedionice i tako ušao u legendu. Spomenik se nalazi u Bogovićevoj ulici.

5. Na zagrebačkom „moru“ (jezero Jarun) postoji zanimljiva instalacija slična onoj u Stonehengeu. Naime, 2005. godine slovenski umjetnik Marko Pogačnik je na Otoku hrvatske mladeži postavio ovu zanimljivu instalaciju koja se sastoji od 61 kamenog bloka i nazvao je „Solarni pleksus Europe“. Instalacija predstavlja središnju energetsku os Europe koja se proteže od Islanda na sjeveru do Krete na jugu kontinenta.

6. Zagrebačka katedrala je najviša sakralna građevina južno od Alpa. Ovo monumentalno gotičko zdanje posebno je i po tome što tri glavna lustera potječu ni manje ni više nego iz Gold Coast Casina iz Las Vegasa, a dar su hrvatskog „Amerikanca“ Stefana Stankića.

7. Muzej grada Zagreba dom je mnogih umjetnina. Svakako jedan od najzanimljivijih izložaka je replika Oscara Dušana Vukotića kojega je osvojio za svoj animirani film „Surogat“ 1961. godine. Poseban je po tome što se radi o prvom Oscaru za animirani film kojega je osvojio neamerički redatelj.

8. Zagreb svoj rođendan slavi 31. svibnja kada se obilježava i blagdan Majke Božje od Kamenitih vrata koja je ujedno i Zagrebova nebeska zaštitnica.

9. Prvi zagrebački neboder izgrađen je 1933. godine na križanju Masarykove i Gundulićeve ulice (Löewyev neboder) i to za svega 79 dana. Projektirao ga je tada mladi arhitekt Slavko Löwy za potrebe bogatog trgovca Eugena Radovana, zastupnika za tvrtke Bosch, Blitz i Opel, a bio je kombinacija poslovnog i stambenog prostora. Zanimljivo, sam arhitekt Löwy se u drugoj polovici 20. stoljeća preselio u ovu građevinu gdje je obitavao sve do svoje smrti 1996. godine. Živio je na posljednjem, devetom katu nebodera i svakodnevno uživao u najljepšem pogledu na Zagreb.

10. Glavni zagrebački trg, Trg bana Josipa Jelačića, nekada se nazivao Harmica. Kako je dobio ime? Onomad je glavni trg bio i sajmište za koje se hrvatsko-ugarskom kralju morala plaćati carinska pristojba, takozvana tridesetnica po kojoj je onda i čitav trg dobio ime (mađarski: harminc – trideset). Naziv Harmica zadržan je do 23. lipnja 1848. kada mijenja ime u Jelačićev trg u čast novoizabranom banu Josipu Jelačiću.

11. Zagrepčanima je očito jako stalo do njihovih električnih tramvaja. Čak je popularna hip-hop grupa „Tram 11“ dobila ime po tramvajskoj liniji broj 11. Kako to? Pa članovi ove grupe su živjeli na Črnomercu, odnosno Dubravi, zagrebačkim kvartovima koje povezuje tramvajska linija broj 11 i jedini logičan izbor za ime grupe bio je upravo Tram 11.
